Nankhumwa’s firing case scheduled for 2pm

The High Court in Lilongwe is today scheduled to start hearing an application by legislator for Mulanje Central Constituency and leader of opposition in parliament Kondwani Nankhumwa who is challenging his expulsion from the Democratic Progressive Party.

The hearing was scheduled for this morning but it has been shifted to 2 pm today before Judge Yakuwawa Msiska.

Nankhumwa was expelled from the party alongside other officials for organising a National Governing Council meeting without following party procedures.

But the Mulanje central legislator argues his expulsion did not follow party constitution.
