ADMARC Employee and Accomplices Arrested for Diverting 300 Bags of Maize

Public Relations Officer for Eastern Region Police, Patrick Mussa, disclosed that the arrests were made following a thorough investigation into the alleged diversion and theft of 300 bags of maize.

Mussa revealed that Malani Kaira, a 35-year-old ADMARC employee, was among those apprehended, along with Isaac Bisayi, 39, and Imran Mtonda, 30, suspected accomplices.

According to Mussa, the trio is accused of colluding to divert the maize shipment from its intended destination at Mkwepele ADMARC to Mtonda’s residence in Ntaja Trading Centre, Machinga.

Bisayi, reportedly employed as a driver, purportedly used his truck, bearing registration number NS 7003 and trailer NS 4586, to transport the maize, loading 600 bags from Dowa ADMARC and unloading half at Mtonda’s location.

Law enforcement officers from Ntaja acted swiftly upon receiving the report, arresting the suspects and successfully recovering all 300 bags of stolen maize.

Subsequently, the suspects, including Kaira, Bisayi, and Mtonda, have been charged with multiple offenses, including conspiracy to commit a felony, theft, and theft by servant.
