State prosecutor Sub Inspector Lawrence Kambale detailed the incident to the court, stating that Payele had unlawfully entered a man’s house on January 30, 2024, and stolen items worth K250,000.
Yohane Payele, aged 30, appeared before Second Grade Magistrate Steve Samati, pleading guilty to both charges of burglary and theft.
The court sentenced Payele to six years in prison for his crimes, with Magistrate Samati expressing hope that this punishment would serve as a deterrent to others.
