Former Tanzanian President Ali Hassan Mwinyi has died at the age of 98.
Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan announced this in a televised address that the former leader, who was the country’s second president, died yesterday.
According to Hassan, the former President died while receiving treatment for lung cancer.
Mwinyi ruled the east African country between 1985 and 1995.
