Prisoner holding metal cage in jail no freedom concept

Officer in Charge of Zomba Central Prison, Harrings Nyalubwe, confirmed the escape but provided limited details.

A prisoner escaped lawful custody during a cleaning exercise at Zomba Training College.

Eastern Region Police Spokesperson, Superintendent Patrick Mussa, requested additional time before commenting on the incident.

More information is awaited as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the escape.
