Mangochi Police Net Cattle Rustler

Police at Jenda in Mzimba have arrested a 44- year-old man, on suspicion that he broke into a kraal of Kennedy Jere and went away with 14 cattle.

Spokesperson for Jenda Police, Macfarlane Mseteka has confirmed the arrest and identified the suspect as Madalitso Phiri.

Acccording to Mseteka, the arrest followed a tip-off received by police detectives at Embangweni Police Unit, who were informed that someone was suspiciously seen with a huge herd of cattle around the area

“Upon intensive questioning, the suspect admitted to have stolen the cattle at Kafoteka area in the District.

The suspect has been charged with theft of cattle which is contrary to section 281 of the penal code and he will be sent to Mzimba Police Station to answer his alleged offence.

Madalitso Phiri hails from Nzima village, Traditional Authority Chindi in Mzimba district
