Two Malawi Women’s National Football Team youngsters, midfielders Rose Kabzere and Leticia Chinyamula have been nominated for the Council for Southern African Football Associations (Cosafa) Awards.Cosafa Women’s Promising Player award.
Cosafa is set to hold the inaugural awards on April 19 this year in Durban, South Africa.
Kabzere and Chinyamula (both with Ascent Academy) starred for the Scorchers as they lifted the Cosafa Women’s Championship following a 2-1 victory over Zambia last year.
The two Malawian players will compete against Zambian Esther Banda of Green Buffaloes.
Kabzere scored a goal in 8-0 win over eSwatini whereas Chinyamula netted two goals.
She scored in a 4-3 win over South Africa and ina 3-1 victory over Madagascar.
