Illovo sugar Malawi has today adjusted upwards the prices of sugar
According to the press statement released today, it indicates that the one kilogram Brown sugar will now be sold at K2300 from K2000 at a retail price whilst one kilogram of white sugar will be at K2600 from K2250 at a retail price.
The development has come at the time sugar is scarcity in the country and vendors are now selling the commodity at MK3, 700.00 in some areas.
The Managing Director of Illovo Sugar Malawi plc, Lekeni Katandula has confirmed this turn of events.
Malawians were facing the challenge of sugar scarcity for the past few months and the situation has made the sugar prices to increase rapidly on the markets.
