Police in Mulanje have arrested a 32 year old man for suspecting that he allegedly murdering a 65 year-old woman Elube Umi.
Deputy spokesperson for Mulanje police station, Leah Chagomerana has confirmed the arrest and identified the suspect has Chikumbutso Sailesi.
According to Chagomerana, the daughter to the deceased woman, discovered her mother lifeless in her house in morning hours.
“Besides the dead body there was man sleeping who was drunk said”, Chagomera.
However postmortem results conducted by medical practitioners revealed that the death was caused by strangulation.
Both the suspect and the desecead hailed from Kumkeyani Village Traditional Authority Nthiramanja in the district.
