Information reaching this publication indicates that Maria Mainja has been appointed as Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Regional Director of Women for the South.

DPP Secretary General Clement Mwale has confirmed of the appointment in a statement released on Friday , May 24, 2024 made available to this publication.

According to the statement, the appointment of Mainja is with immediate effect.

Mwale said the Mainja has been appointed by the Central Executive Committee of the party.
