Police in Neno District have arrested a businessman and two drivers for allegedly conspiring to steal diesel from their trucks stationed at a construction site belong to CR-20 which is construction the Neno road.

Neno police publicist Rebecca Msoliza has identified the businessman as Isaac James and tipper truck drivers as Precious Jolum, aged 37, and Enock Kibunga, 39.

Msoliza said that the suspects were intercepted by the police and guards as they were syphoning the fuel from the company’s camp.

” James confessed to have connived with the drivers to syphon the fuel from the trucks and this led to the arrest of the two drivers. Further investigations also revealed that the drivers deliberately left the fuel tanks open for easy syphoning, she said.

Isaac James, hails from, Matemba village , Traditional Authority Mlauli, Neno District, while Precious Jolam hails from Mlolo village, Traditional Authority Mazengera, Lilongwe and Enock Kibunga hails from Mwentete village, Traditional Authority Kilupura, in Karonga District.
