The Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) has reopened a Panda store in Area 49 in Lilongwe after the store owners made all the repairs the agency had ordered.

Officials from the agency inspected the store yesterday and found that it did not meet the hygiene standards required for a food store.

MBS officials are inspecting other stores that were closed yesterday to ensure they have complied with all the agency’s orders in line with the country’s food retailing laws.

MBS has also reopened Chichiri Shoprite following its closure for the same reasons.
