Zion Pastor Drowns in Bua River While Trying to Baptize Himself

A Zion pastor, Chisomo Duncan, has drowned in the Bua River in Lilongwe during a baptism ceremony.
According to Central Region Police spokesperson Foster Benjamin, the pastor had just finished baptizing members of his congregation when he entered the river to perform a self-baptism ritual but failed to resurface.
Concerned members of the congregation reported the incident to Malembo Police Station, prompting a two-day search operation.
The pastor’s body has since been recovered, and medical personnel at Malembo Health Center have confirmed that the cause of death was drowning.
