The Lilongwe Magistrate Court has adjourned the case involving popular content creator Tamia Ja to February 20 due to the government’s failure to submit case documents to the court.

Stanley Chirwa, the legal representative for Tamia, expressed frustration over the delay, stating that the prosecution had not provided the defence with the necessary documents to prepare for the proceedings.

Chirwa emphasised the importance of the defence being fully informed about the charges before responding in court.

Chirwa further requested the court to compel the prosecution to submit the documents within seven days to ensure the defence has adequate time to prepare.

The court granted the adjournment, giving the government additional time to organise and present the required documentation. The case will resume on February 20, with both parties expected to be fully prepared.
