Blantyre Police Confirms Mbayani Fracas & Arrest Of Chairman Arrested for Allegedly Killing Man Over Loan Dispute

Blantyre police spokesman Peter Mchiza has confirmed the arrest of Andrew Mandiwe, who is suspected of killing a young man, John Moyeni, in Mbayani, Blantyre.
According to Mchiza, Mandiwe, who is the chairman of the Mbayani market, assaulted and injured Moyeni because he refused to pay back the money he had borrowed amounting to K4, 000.
Following the riot, angry people in Mbayani in Blantyre demolished the shop and Mandiwe’s houses.
As of now, police in Blantyre are waiting for the medical report that will explain whether Moyeni’s death was due to injuries or not.
