Three men have been arrested by Lingadzi Police for allegedly defaming of character and cyber stalking the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) church and its founder, Prophet Shepherd Bushiri.

Deputy Public Relations Officer for Lingadzi Police Station Constable Maria Kumwenda has identified the suspects as Robert Chisambiro, 28, Ronald Chisambiro, 26, and Aubrey Alfonso, 26.

According to Kumwenda, it is reported that, the suspects have got a Facebook page called MANA NEWS ONLINE, where they used to publish fake and defaming stories about the church and its founder.

“ECGs Public Relations Officer Aubrey Kusakala contacted the suspects and sternly warned them to stop the malpractice but instead demanded money from the church to do so,” Kumwenda disclosed.

The matter was reported to Lingadzi Police and working towards the report, Police Station detectives organized intelligence driven investigation and operation leading to the arrest of the trio on January 31st, 2025.

They are expected to appear in court soon to answer the charges levelled against them.
