INIDIA – Alfred Ruf, a 71-year-old man from India, has confessed to poisoning his wife, Liza Bishop, in an attempt to marry her daughter.
Ruf was charged with aggravated battery and posing a risk of death, and he was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty.
The case began in 2021 when Ruf spiked his wife’s Coca-Cola drinks with dangerous drugs, including cocaine and MDMA.
As a result, Liza experienced serious health issues such as headaches, drowsiness, and diarrhea, leading her to seek medical attention multiple times.
After noticing a powdery substance in her drinks, Liza contacted the authorities in January 2022, suspecting foul play.
Ruf admitted to the poisoning and revealed that he had been involved in a sexual relationship with Liza’s daughter, who had promised to marry him if her mother died.
The plan was to incapacitate Liza by drugging her, making it easier for them to carry out their scheme.
Ruf ultimately poisoned Liza 12 times, and he has also been sentenced to five years of probation.
