Nsanje Police Station spokesperson, Agnes Zalakoma, has identified the man as Yohane Galison, suspected to have murdered his 19- year-old son Joe Galison.
Zalakoma said the incident occurred during the night of February 6, 2025 at Chitseko village, Senior Chief Mlolo in the district.
Police have established that the son was well-known for breaking-in offences in the area and the suspect, as his father, was not happy with that.
Zalakoma said on the said night the two started fighting and the suspect hit the son with a metal object.
She said following that the suspect surrendered himself to Fatima Police Unit, leaving his son unconscious.
Police found the deceased lying in a pool of blood when they visited the scene of the incident. Postmortem conducted has revealed that death was due to head injuries.
The suspect will appear in court soon.
