Councillor Jali Square Kadangwe of Mulemba Ward in Mulanje South West Constituency has passed away.

He died on Tuesday morning at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre, where he had been receiving treatment for severe burns.

Kadangwe was injured last Saturday when his minibus, parked at his home, suddenly caught fire.

Mulanje District Council Chairperson, Councillor Daniel Chauluka, confirmed that Kadangwe, who was Muslim, will be laid to rest today, Tuesday, at Matipwiri village in the area of Traditional Authority Mthiramanja.
