Cultural grouping called’ Malawi Chewa Heritage ‘ on Saturday donated construction materials among others the iron sheets and cement to Traditional Authority (TA) N’gabu of Nsanje district whose house  was recently blown off by strong winds.

Presenting the reaponse on behalf of the grouping,Malawi Chewa Heritage interim chairperson fondly called Gogo Sosola of Salima district said this  is part of organization’s agenda which is unity and  grieving with those in grievances.

” As Malawi Chewa Heritage we were touched when we recently received the news that one of our chief’s house was been blown off by strong winds.We thought to respond in this way, so that he can reconstruct his house.” he said.

Sosola claimed this is the first in history, adding that the gesture demonstrates peace and unity that exists among the Chewa people and he pledged for a continued support towards completion of the house.

In his remarks,T/A N’gabu thanked the cultural grouping for the kind gesture,saying the response  will go a long way by giving him a descent home.

” I am speechless but what I can say is that this should also be extended to other people.A bout 39 households in my area have been affected by similar predicament,” he explained.

According to Malawi Chewa Heritage, materials worhy about K1 m  (one million kwacha) have been realized  from contributions by the group members.

After presenting the donation,Gogo Sola who was accompanied by senior Chief Chimombo of Nsanje district who is the grouping publicity secretary also toured a 72 kilometers Nsanje rail way project being implemented by Malawian government in the district under leadership  of President Lazarus Chakwera.

Sosola said among others,the project when fully completed and utilized will help to reduce the cost and mobility challenges of the imported goods.
