2 Arrested for Illegal Possession of Medical Drugs and Equipment in Lilongwe

Police in Lilongwe have arrested two individuals for operating a clinic and possessing medical drugs and surgical equipment without the required permits.
According to Lilongwe Police Station’s Deputy Public Relations Officer, Constable Khumbo Sanyiwa, the suspects have been identified as Christopher Toliyasi, 60, and Lestina Black, 50. The arrests were made on April 29, 2025, during a special police operation.
“Toliyasi was arrested for operating a clinic without a license, while Black was found with assorted medical drugs without a valid permit,” said Sanyiwa.
Both suspects are expected to appear in court soon to face relevant charges.
