As one way of promoting Malawi’s creative industry, Diplomats Car Hire has contributed K5 million and a Limousine car to support the launch of the locally produced film Welcome to Maula Prison.
Speaking on behalf of the company, Deputy Managing Director for Diplomats Car hire Wezi Chiweta said the gesture reflects their commitment to uplifting the arts sector and encouraging local talent.
The film is scheduled to premiere on 2 May 2at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe, before heading to Blantyre and Mzuzu for additional screenings on 3 and 4 May respectively.
One of the film’s producers, Kendall Kamwendo, welcomed the support, describing it as timely and essential in ensuring a successful premiere.
