Man Netted For Chewing 8 Year-old Girl in Karonga

Police in Karonga District have arrested Robert Munthali, 23, on allegations of defiling an eight-year-old girl at Nalutete illegal mining site in the district.
Karonga Police’s deputy publicist, Margret Msiska Ngulube, said the child’s grandmother noticed unusual signs when bathing her and reported the issue to community policing forum members.
“After being asked, the child identified Munthali and alleged that he threatened her against revealing the matter,” said Ngulube.
She added that Munthali went into hiding after the incident was reported, but was apprehended by community members when he returned to the mining site yesterday.
