Epileptic Man Drowns in Chemulambe Stream in Thyolo

A 33-year-old man, Alison Sozinyo, tragically drowned in the Chemulambe stream at Masambanjati in Thyolo on Monday evening.
According to Masambanjati Police spokesperson Amos Banda, Sozinyo had gone to the stream alone around 5:00 PM to bathe when the incident occurred. It is suspected that he suffered an epileptic seizure, causing him to fall into the water.
Villagers later discovered his body floating in the stream. A postmortem conducted at the scene confirmed that the cause of death was aspiration of water, secondary to suffocation.
The deceased hailed from Mwandama Village under Traditional Authority Nsabwe in Thyolo District.
