Malawi Needs More Theatres to Boost Film Industry

In Malawi many people including the youths are talented in different ways but their talent remains hidden because as a country we don’t have places where these people can go and showcase their talent so that they can be known by the country.

This issue has been revealed during the previous movie premier called ‘welcome to maula prison movie premier’ which took place in all the cities. Due to lack of theaters the organizers of the premier had to book other places in the cities for the premier to take place. This shows that the country its not putting effort in the Malawi film industry.

Speaking during the premier one of the actors for the movie Tumpe Mtaya who is well known s Phwedo expressed their concern and request the government to start priotizing the film industry and help it to grow.

As a country we have Blantyre culture center which was popular some years back then. People used to go there and showcase their talents but it was just abandoned and its not working anymore.
