Man Arrested In Mzuzu For Allegedly Sleeping With & Impregnating 15-Year-Old Girl

Police in Mzuzu have arrested Promise Mwale, 21, from Chiputula for having sex with a 15-year-old girl.
According to Mzuzu Deputy Police Spokesperson Cecelia Mfune, on May 8, the girl’s mother reported to the police that her daughter was impregnated by the boy, prompting the police to arrest him.
Police said they also discovered that the two had been in a relationship since 2024 and on May 6 this year, the girl went missing and her mother reported the matter to village police who found her sleeping at the boy’s house.
The boy is currently expected to face charges of having sex with a child.
Mwale hails from Mafelanji village, in the Mwansambo chiefdom in Nkhotakota district.
