The first witness in the case involving Alfred Gangata, identified as Andrew Elia Mphamba, has testified that he did not receive any money or benefit from Gangata despite earlier promises that Gangata would have someone sit for an exam on his behalf.
Mphamba told the court that he was the one who took the exam for Gangata, even though the certificate issued afterward bore Gangata’s name and photo. He further stated that, although he wrote the exam under Gangata’s name, he never received any payment or reward as had been agreed.
The witness also revealed that both the headteacher and the deputy headteacher at Chitowo Secondary School the institution where the exam was taken would be able to recognize Gangata by name as Alfred Gangata.
So far, the court has adjourned proceedings and announced that the case will continue on May 27th this year.
