Organizers of the much-anticipated “Finale Ndi Yemwe Akupita” social weekend at LUANAR Bunda Campus have dropped young musician Ajuh Guffi from the performance line-up following public backlash on social media.

According to a post made on the Bunda Eye Music Facebook page, the campus entertainment team has resolved not to allow the young artist to perform at the upcoming finale. The decision follows a wave of criticism from students and social media users who expressed discomfort with having a young performer grace the stage of what is usually a highly energetic and mature event.

Ajuh Guffi, whose hit songs “Bwera” and “Chedwa” have recently gained traction, was one of the first artists announced for the event, alongside Zeze, Jetu, and others. However, once the official event poster featuring Ajuh was released, the comment section was flooded with negative reactions, many referencing his young age and recent viral fame related to a fire incident.

“Is it really appropriate for a primary school kid to headline our finale? This is total nonsense,” wrote one disapproving student. Another added, “If these are the artists we’re bringing, I’d rather spend my money on beer than a ticket.”

The backlash has triggered broader conversations among LUANAR Bunda students about the direction of entertainment leadership and the credibility of the current entertainment committee. Some students have expressed concerns that the event may fail to live up to expectations compared to other campuses like UNIMA and NRC, where major artists such as Ma Blacks and Tay Grin have headlined past social weekends.

Despite the controversy, organizers are expected to announce a revised lineup soon as preparations continue for the climax of this semester’s 8 of 8 Socials.
