American rapper Meek Mill has spoken out amid the ongoing federal investigation into music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, seeking to clear his name after being indirectly linked to allegations surrounding the Bad Boy Records founder.
On Wednesday, May 21, the Dreamchasers boss took to X (formerly Twitter) to address the recent media firestorm, particularly referencing the lawsuit filed by producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones. Though Meek Mill was not directly named in any court documents, he says online blogs falsely amplified a narrative implicating him in the situation.
“In the midst of Diddy on ‘Federal’ trial, I wanna bring back up ‘Lil Rod’ and his lawsuit that was dropped?” Meek wrote. “For the record, Lil Rod’s case against Diddy is still ongoing. He never said my name but these blogs amplified that whole agenda against me. My culture don’t believe it but it’s an attack on my brand… I wanna get to the bottom of it.”
Meek added that he’s always worked to protect his image and avoid destructive behavior, especially as someone who came from humble beginnings.
“I’m from North Philly. I’ve had millions since I was 23! I don’t even want to be addicted to weed. I’m not judging anyone, but I see things differently,” he continued. “The craziest thing I seen at a Puff party is ‘coke vibes,’ and that’s going on at all these parties.”
Meek Mill also took the opportunity to respond to Luce Cannon, a YouTuber who previously claimed in an interview with DJ Akademiks that he had kidnapped and held Meek for ransom in Los Angeles.
“And Luce Cannon with that Akademiks interview — that was full bait,” Meek wrote. “Also, he’s a nobody saying he walked up and robbed me. I was running into Suge Knight and Big U when I came to L.A. No camera phone vibes. I was showing ni**as out there it’s more to life with Black success.”
Diddy is currently under investigation and faces serious allegations including sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He is accused of orchestrating drug-fueled parties and coercing both male and female participants into explicit acts — claims which he has denied through legal representatives.
As the legal drama unfolds, Meek Mill has made it clear that he is not involved and intends to protect his reputation from being dragged into unfounded speculation.
