Former FAM President Walter Nyamilandu Enters Politics, to Contest for MP in Nsanje South West

Former Football Association of Malawi (FAM) president Walter Nyamilandu Manda has officially declared his entry into politics and will contest as a Member of Parliament for Nsanje South West Constituency.
Nyamilandu made the announcement via his official Facebook page, where he also unveiled a poster promoting his upcoming New Wave Mass Rally scheduled for June 7, 2025 at Khulubvi Primary School Ground, starting at 10 AM.
This development comes just weeks after he launched the Walter Nyamilandu Manda Trophy in the same constituency, a move that many now view as part of his groundwork for the political race.
Nyamilandu served as FAM president for an impressive 19 years, from 2004 until 2023, when he was defeated by current president Freetwood Haiya.
