Mponela Road Accident Claims Life of A Young Boy

In Mponela,Dowa District a five year old boy identified as Viye Nathan has died after being hit by a moving vehicle as he was crossing the road following his mother who had already crossed the road.
The incident occurred on 28 May,2025 at Chapuma village near Natola Community Day Secondary School along Kasungu – Lilongwe M1 road .
He hailed from Chapuma village in the area of Senior Chief Chakhaza in Dowa District.
According to reports filed at Madisi Police it indicates that driver Josephy Nsabimana, 37 years, Nationality Rwandan was driving a motor vehicle registration number NN 11744 Toyota Axio saloon from the direction of Kasungu heading Mponela.
Upon arrival at Chapuma village, he hit the boy who was crossing the road.
Following the impact, Nathan sustain severe head injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Madisi Mission Hospital.
Meanwhile,Mponela Police are advising all parents to take care of their young ones when crossing the roads in order to avoid such accidents.
