Man Gets 19 Year Jail Term For Chewing And Impregnating Minor in Chinsapo Lilongwe

In Lilongwe, a 28-year-old man, Raffick James, has been sentenced to 19 years in prison for defiling and impregnating a 13-year-old girl in Chinsapo.
In a statement Hastings Chigalu Lilongwe Police spokesperson said that the Senior Resident Magistrate’s Court heard that James lured the victim and her friend to his home in December 2024 under the guise of housework.
It was established in the court that James locked one girl in a bedroom and raped the other at knifepoint, threatening to kill them if they spoke out.
According to Chigalu, the victim revealed the assault in March, this year after her parents discovered she was pregnant.
However, in court, despite James confessing the vice, he later pleaded not guilty.
In his judgement, Magistrate Bracious Kondowe handed down the 19-year term, citing the girl’s trauma and the planned nature of the crime.
Raffick James, hails from Mangochi District.
