In a case where Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife, Mary, are appealing against extradition to South Africa, the High Court in Lilongwe has failed to proceed with the scheduled hearing of oral arguments from both the defense and the prosecution.
The couple is challenging a lower court ruling that ordered their extradition to South Africa to face criminal charges.
Their lawyer, Wapona Kita, told reporters that the delay is due to the incomplete transfer of documents from the lower court.
He explained that the files are still being photocopied and will be distributed to all parties involved.
The court is now expected to set a new date for the continuation of the appeal once the documentation process is complete.
