The foreign ministers of the United Kingdom, France, and Germany are meeting today in Geneva with their Iranian counterpart in a renewed diplomatic effort to de-escalate the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.

The high-level talks come amid heightened international concern over the growing military exchanges between the two countries. Overnight, Israel launched multiple airstrikes on military sites inside Iran, while Iran responded by firing missiles toward Israeli territory.

According to emergency services, five people were injured in Beersheba, southern Israel, with reports of fires burning near Microsoft’s regional offices. Iranian authorities have not provided any updated casualty figures since Sunday.

Meanwhile, former U.S. President Donald Trump, currently seeking re-election, is deliberating on whether the United States will join Israeli military operations. The White House says Trump is expected to make a decision within two weeks. His press secretary stated that Trump is hesitating, believing there is still a “substantial chance” for diplomatic talks to succeed.

The Geneva discussions are seen as a critical opportunity for European leaders to prevent a wider regional war and encourage both sides to return to the negotiating table.
