The much-anticipated bout between social media sensation Master Tchingira and George Alikanjero has been officially cancelled from the June 29 boxing event set to take place at Brimat Multipurpose Hall in Lilongwe.

Event organiser and Youth Boxing Promotions owner, Salimu Chazama, confirmed the decision, citing safety concerns over Tchingira’s lack of adequate preparation.

“We fear he could get injured, so we’ve removed him from the card to give him time to prepare properly. He might get another opportunity in the future,” said Chazama.

Master Tchingira rose to fame online for his viral fighting moves, acrobatics, and his bold declarations claiming he can beat an opponent until they lose their vision. His confidence and energy have attracted wide attention, and now, he is being sponsored by Ibrahim Swed, who hopes to help him raise capital to purchase fishing gear to support his livelihood.

“I will personally give him K500,000, and the rest of the funds will be raised during the event,” said Ibrahim Swed.

Tchingira was set to be part of a support fight under the main event between Alick Gogodo and Limbani Lano.

Tickets for the June 29 fights are already on sale, with Open Stand going at K10,000 and VIP at K15,000
