Minister of Science and Technology Education, Jessie Kabwila, is seeking K500 million in compensation from Sameer Suleiman, a senior official of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
According to her lawyer, George Jivason Kadzipatike, Kabwila was allegedly insulted by Suleiman regarding her appearance during a DPP meeting held in Bangwe, Blantyre.
Kabwila has given Suleiman seven days to pay the compensation, failing which the matter will be taken to court.
As of now, Suleiman has not responded to the allegations.
