Police Investigate Brutal Killing of Young Woman in Chirimba, Blantyre

Police in Blantyre are investigating the gruesome murder of a young woman whose body was found naked and lifeless on June 30th, 2025, behind Dorvic Lodge in Chirimba.
The deceased has been identified as Shanaaz Yusuf, a devout Muslim and quiet individual known for her commitment to prayer. According to community members, Shanaaz was peaceful and never known to cause conflict with anyone.
Her body was discovered near a stream, stripped of all clothing, and preliminary findings reveal that she had a deep head injury, suggesting she may have been struck with a hard object before being dumped.
This heartbreaking act has left many Malawians questioning the rising levels of cruelty in society.
Why Malawi? Why would anyone subject another human being to such humiliation and violence?

The police have not yet made any arrests, but investigations are ongoing.
