Suspected Thief Arrested in Ndirande After House Break-In

Police in Ndirande have arrested 22-year-old John Banda on suspicion of breaking into a house and stealing items worth K1.3 million.
According to Ndirande Police Deputy Public Relations Officer, Madalitso Sadik Phiri, the incident occurred on July 6 when the homeowner received a phone call informing him that his house had been broken into.
A relative who witnessed the incident reported seeing the suspect leaving the compound carrying a soundbar, Bluetooth speakers, and a laptop. He was also wearing shoes and trousers believed to belong to the homeowner.
The relative gave chase, and with the help of bystanders, the suspect was apprehended.
Phiri confirmed that when police arrived at the scene, they verified that the house had indeed been broken into and that the stolen items were recovered.
The suspect is expected to appear before court soon.
