Man Arrested for Allegedly S0domizing 11-Year-Old Boy In Nkhotakota

Police in Nkhunga, Dwangwa, are keeping in custody a 48-year-old man in custody for allegedly defiling an 11-year-old boy in the Dwambazi area of Nkhotakota District.
Spokesperson for Nkhunga Police , Andrew Kamanga, has confirmed the arrest and identified the suspect as Robert Budala from Mjuwa Village, under Senior Chief Kamphambale, was arrested on suspicion of committing the act.
Kamanga said the matter came to light after the victim’s father reported the incident to authorities. With assistance from community security structures, Budala was apprehended on the night of the report.
“Budala is currently in police custody and is expected to appear in court once investigations are complete,” said Kamanga.
If found guilty, Budala faces up to 14 years imprisonment, as stipulated under Malawi’s laws on child defilement.
Police have commended the community for swiftly reporting the case and have urged the public to remain vigilant in protecting children from abuse.
