Man to spend 7 years in jail for having sexual intercourse with 15-Year-Old epileptic girl in Neno

The Neno First Grade Magistrate court has today sentenced Julius Msadzu 63, to 7 years imprisonment for having sexual intercourse with a 15 year old girl who is also epileptic, contrary to section138 (1) of Penal Code.
According to Neno police public relations officer Rebecca Msoliza, on July 3, 2025 in the morning hours, the victim went to a nearby bush which is close to the convict’s house to fetch firewood.
In the process of fetching the firewood, she met the convict who ordered her to take off her clothes but she refused and this angered the suspect who pushed her down and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her. He then gave her K500 note so that she should not reveal the ordeal to anyone.
“when the girl was coming out from the bush she was seen by a passerby dressing up. Upon asking her as to why she was dressing up while walking, the victim revealed the whole ordeal and the matter was then reported to Police,” added Msoliza.
The victim was refered to Lisungwi Community Hospital for examination and results showed that penetration took place.
Julius Msadzu comes from Mkundika Village, Traditional Authority Symon in Neno district.
