Man Arrested for Motorcycle Theft in Nkhata Bay

Police in Nkhata Bay have arrested William Ojesi, 24, in connection with the theft of a motorcycle that went missing between July 19 and 20, 2025, in the Makomboni area.
According to Nkhata Bay Police Deputy Spokesperson Devoter Mithi, the motorcycle was reported stolen by its owner, Stephano Readson, prompting a swift investigation by law enforcement.
Mithi said the suspect was caught red-handed while attempting to sell the motorcycle at Mpamba Trading Centre, where he later confessed to the crime during interrogation.
Ojesi hails from Chikoja Village in Traditional Authority Kadewere, Chiradzulu District, and has since been charged with theft of a motorcycle. He is expected to appear in court soon.
