
Mutharika Arrives at BICC to File Nomination Papers, Running Mate Still Unknown

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) leader Peter Mutharika has arrived at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe to submit his nomination papers and credentials to the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) for this year’s presidential election.
His motorcade pulled up at the venue this morning, and he entered the BICC hall accompanied by his spouse, Gertrude Mutharika and party’s supporters.
The event has attracted significant public and media attention, with widespread speculation surrounding his yet-to-be-announced running mate.
Security at the BICC is tight, with police and special personnel stationed at the entrance to maintain order as the high-profile submission takes place.
