Australia – A man has been charged with the double murder of a pregnant woman and her partner in a suspected targeted attack in Mount Waverley, Melbourne, Australia.

The victims, Athena Georgopoulos, 39, and Andrew Gunn, 50, were found dead inside their home on Monday night.

Gunn was reportedly decapitated, with his head placed on a spike, while Georgopoulos was five months pregnant at the time.

Police were called to the scene around 9:20pm after reports of shouting, followed by a second call indicating a more urgent situation.

Investigators found disturbing graffiti on the walls, including messages such as “enough is enough” and “karma has no menu.”

Detectives believe the suspect, who is known to the victims, may have had no fixed address.

A 34-year-old man was arrested at Westall train station just hours after the killings and charged with two counts of murder.

Georgopoulos’ family expressed their heartbreak, describing her excitement about becoming a mother and her devotion to caring for her sick mother.

Police continue to investigate the scene, believing a violent altercation may have occurred before the killings.
