Police Seize 400 Bags of Maize Destined for Zambia at Mchinji

Police have recovered 400 bags of maize weighing 50 kilogrammes each that were being transported by a lorry for sale in ZambiaZambia.
According to national police spokesperson Lael Chimtembo, officers intercepted the truck at the Mchinji Government Gate after it attempted to use alternative routes to evade security checks.
Chimtembo warned traders that the ban on the export of maize to other countries remains in force and said police will take action against anyone found violating the restriction.
