Senior Chief Malemia Arrested in Zomba Over Defilement Allegations

Malawi Police have arrested Senior Chief Malemia in Zomba over allegations of impregnating an underage girl, in a case that has sparked public concern.
According to reports, the matter was reported by Angela Wudu Martin, leading to the chief’s arrest.
Police further allege that Malemia forced the girl to terminate the pregnancy, but the procedure resulted in complications, forcing her to be admitted at Zomba Central Hospital for three days.
Police say investigations are still ongoing, and the suspect remains in custody pending court proceedings.
