Lilongwe Mayor Peter Banda Accepts FAM Apology, Demands Accountability

Lilongwe City Mayor Peter Alex Banda has accepted the apology issued by the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) following the controversial incident at the NBS Charity Shield, but says the matter is far from resolved.
In a report that Face of Malawi has seen on Mikozi Facebook page, the mayor stressed that an apology alone is not enough, insisting that a full and transparent report must be submitted within 48 hours identifying individuals responsible for the incident.
He expressed support for the directive issued by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture and confirmed that he has invited FAM for a formal meeting aimed at addressing the matter and restoring respect for public office.
Mayor Banda said he will withhold final judgment until the report is reviewed.
