Police in Lilongwe have arrested a 37-year-old man suspected to be behind the production and distribution of fake match tickets for a recent high-profile clash between F.C.B Nyasa Big Bullets and Mighty Wanderers.

Lilongwe Police spokesperson Hastings Chigalu identified the suspect as Yassin Mussah. According to Chigalu, Mussah is believed to be the main source of the counterfeit tickets, which were later sold by various individuals to unsuspecting football fans.

Police say the suspect is linked to others already arrested in connection with the scam, including Mishelo Felix Chambota, who was apprehended in the Malangalanga area on similar charges.

Authorities have since intensified investigations to track down more suspects believed to be part of the illegal ticket syndicate.

The development comes amid growing concerns over fraud targeting football supporters during major matches in the country.
