LUANAR Student Dies Days Before Graduation

A student from Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) has died just days before the university’s graduation ceremony scheduled for May 27 and 28, 2026.
According to a statement released by the university’s Director of Students Affairs (DOSA), the late Pemphero Dausi was an ODeL student pursuing a Bachelor of Agriculture Economics degree and was among students expected to graduate on May 27.
The cause of her death has not yet been disclosed.
Her passing comes only days after another LUANAR student, Blessings Mhango, also died ahead of the upcoming graduation ceremony.
Burial for Dausi is expected to take place tomorrow, May 20, 2026, in Nkhotakota District.
