Police Arrest Noor Nasir Over Alleged Murder of Asif Khan

Police have confirmed the arrest of Noor Nasir, a Malawian of Asian descent, in connection with the alleged murder of Asif Khan in Blantyre.
Deputy National Police Spokesperson Alfred Chinthere said the case has since been committed to the High Court.
According to Chinthere, Asif Khan’s body was exhumed on July 19, 2026, after allegations of murder emerged following his burial.
“The exhumation was carried out on July 19 because the murder allegation surfaced after the body had already been buried,” Chinthere said.
Police say the alleged murder occurred on July 6, 2026.
Chinthere declined to comment on whether investigators are pursuing additional suspects, saying investigations into the matter are still ongoing.
