Man hits to death by a moving vehicle in Dedza

A man died after he was hit by Isuzu motor vehicle pickup as he was trying to cross the road at Mkutu Village near Bembeke Market in Dedza.

Dedza police spokesperson, Edward Kabango said the police have not yet identified the deceased person’s name and other information.

He said the motor vehicle registration number NU 9010 was driven by Mavuto Nkhonjera 43, from Mwahimba Village in Traditional Authority Kyungu in Karonga and he had one passenger Giston Chimombo, 43 from Malonda Village in T.A. Makwangwala in Ntcheu,” said Kabango.

“As of today, the only information we have is about the driver and passenger. However, the motor vehicle was coming from Lilongwe going to Blantyre and after the accident they both escaped without injuries,” said Kabango.

According to the Police, the deceased was pronounced dead upon arrival at Dedza District Hospital and postmortem results shows that he died due to head injuries.
